Please brows through the web site. These are all Handcrafted Products made in Vermont. This is directly from the craftsman to you. You will find hand turned wood bowls, pens, game calls, kaleidoscope, jewelry, kitchen items any many additional items that can be turned. the items are made to be both useful and to be enjoyed as art. The wood I use depends on the object being turned. Many of the pens have woods from all over the world, Olive wood from the Holly land, Cocobolo from South America, Maple right here from Vermont are examples. I also use Diamond Wood, a stained Baltic birch composite made here in Vermont that makes very interesting and unique pens and jewelry. The bowls shown are usually local Vermont woods and are “Once Turned” This is a process where the bowl is turned and finished green. This is very natural process and produces very interesting shape in the bowl when dry. A Once Turned bowl has a very natural look and feel. The bowls are finished with a food safe natural Tung oil made here in Vermont. It produces a beautiful satin finish to the bowls and is easy to maintain.

My story is simple; I was an architectural designer for almost forty years. I took a bowl turning thee day class from Ralph Tursini in Cambridge and fell in love with turning. There was a special gratification to building what I design. The feel of the tools, the smells and sounds of turning. The opportunity to be both creative with mind and body makes this a special pleasure to me. What a great thing it would be to do what is loved so much. I turn many different objects for both the new challenges and the satisfaction. I would turn even if no one would purchase my work, however there is an added satisfaction when some one else like my creations. For the first time in my life I am doing something that gives me pure satisfaction. The bonus is when someone purchases a piece. Vermont is the perfect place to be a turner. Great trees, great colleagues and people who appreciate the craft. I am very proud to call myself a turner.
